School Policies

  • Students MUST always bring their license (7L, 7N, 5, etc.). Lessons where the license is not brought will not be refunded and will incur a cancellation fee.
  • There will be a maximum of TWO additional person in vehicle during the student’s lesson time for the purpose of observation.
  • For road tests, all students must bring in 2 pieces of valid government-issued identification (e.g. passport, birth certificate, PR card, work/study permit etc.) and their driving license.
  • Students who cancel their lesson under 24 hours from the scheduled lesson time will not be refunded the cost of the cancelled lesson. If the fee was not paid in advance, the student will be required to pay for the missed lesson at the time of the following lesson.
  • Any remaining fees owed to Richmond Driving Academy MUST be paid prior to the road test. If the students fails to do so 24 hours prior to the scheduled test date and time, use of school vehicle will no longer be allowed.
  • The student must bring sufficient funds to pay for the ICBC road test and other costs associated with it. It costs approximately $35.00 for a Class 7 Licensing Test and $50.00 for Class 5 Licensing Test. Another $75.00 is required by ICBC for the licensing fee for when the student passes the road test
  • There are NO refunds for any lessons taken.

Cancellation Policy

  • Cancellations for training and or vehicle rental under 24 hours from scheduling will result in charge of $80.
  • Lessons which do not have a cancellation fee paid are considered to be forfeited and will NOT be rescheduled until the fee is paid.
  • To cancel or re-book your appointment for a road test, please contact us 72 hours prior to the scheduled test date. Additionally, the student must also cancel the test date via the ICBC scheduling portal in order to prevent being charged $25.00 from ICBC. The student must also notify their instructor of the cancellation
  • The student is responsible for the cancellation fee $25.00 charged by ICBC.
  • Richmond Driving Academy will not guarantee a license or pass road test.

General Lesson Policy

  • All students must bring a valid driver’s license (Class 7L, 7N, 5, etc.) to every lesson.
  • A maximum of two observers are allowed in the vehicle during a lesson.
  • Each driving lesson includes a minimum of 5 minutes for review.
  • Free pick-up and drop-off included in all lessons.

Cancellation Policy

  • Cancel at least 24 hours in advance to avoid fees.
  • $80 fee for canceling a 1-hour lesson within 24 hours.
  • $110 fee for canceling a 1.5-hour lesson within 24 hours.
  • Same-day cancellations are charged the full lesson amount.
  • Missed lessons are forfeited until cancellation fees are paid.
  • Road tests must be canceled at least 72 hours in advance, and also through ICBC’s online portal.

Road Test Policy

  • Bring 2 valid government-issued IDs (e.g. PR card, passport, work/study permit).
  • Car rental with 1-hour warm-up and pick-up/drop-off: $180.
  • Non-students must take a 1-hour assessment ($80) before renting a car.

Payment & Refund Policy

  • Full payment required before any road test.
  • No refunds for any lessons already taken.
  • GST is included in all course prices.
  • Accepted payments: Cash, E-transfer, Credit Card (if applicable).

ICBC & Licensing Fees

  • Students are responsible for ICBC fees:
    • $35 for Class 7 Road Test
    • $50 for Class 5 Road Test
    • $75 licensing fee upon passing
  • ICBC fees are not included in our packages.

  • Lessons available in English and Mandarin.
  • One-on-one in-car training tailored to your level and comfort.
